PhD course in Survival Analysis in Copenhagen - 02.02.2011

Time: May 2011.

 

Location: Copenhagen - LIFE Science faculty.

 

Description: The course is an E-learning course with the main focus on a 1 week on-campus didactic module. The on-campus week will be a mixture of lectures based on Chapter 19 of the text Veterinary Epidemiologic Research (www.upei.ca/ver), lectures/group work on additional examples and theory from the published literature, and exercises with focus on the individual aspects covered in the lectures. The mixture is approximately 50% teacher driven and 50% student driven (e.g. exercises and group work). There will be a mini project (group work) during the course week as well as exercises focused on more specific topics.

Requirements: The course is intended for people with some experience in quantitative methods, i.e. a basic knowledge of Biostatistics and/or Epidemiology. Participants should be familiar with procedures for building and evaluating linear and logistic regression models. It is desirable, but not a requirement, that participants have some familiarity with R or STATA.
